Effective July 14, 2026
Privacy, without fine print.
LittleMarks is designed to keep your personal markbooks and notes on your iPhone. Plus can place one restorable copy in your private iCloud database. LittleMarks has no analytics or advertising SDK. Sign in with Apple is optional and used only for invites and gifted Plus access.
Information stored on your device
LittleMarks stores markbooks, options, records, optional notes, and app settings in local app storage on your iPhone. This information is used only to provide the app's recording, calendar, statistics, and journal features.
Optional private iCloud backup
Plus can save a versioned copy of your LittleMarks library in the private CloudKit database associated with your Apple Account. The local library remains the primary copy. Only you can access this private database by default, and its contents are not visible in the developer portal. The backup is not sent to the LittleMarks template or referral services. You can back up, restore, or delete the iCloud copy from inside the app. Restoring replaces the local library only after confirmation.
Information we collect
LittleMarks does not transmit your markbooks, records, notes, or journal activity to the developer or to analytics and advertising providers. The optional invite service processes only the account and security information described below. We do not use your information for advertising, tracking, profiling, or product analytics.
Official template updates
LittleMarks may connect to the LittleMarks template service to download published template names, icons, colors, descriptions, and preset options. These requests do not include your markbooks, records, notes, account information, or a LittleMarks device identifier. The hosting provider processes standard network information needed to deliver the response. LittleMarks does not use template requests for advertising, profiling, or product analytics.
Optional invite account
If you choose the invite feature, LittleMarks verifies Sign in with Apple and stores an Apple-derived user identifier, your invite code, redemption count, and referral Plus expiration date. The app does not request your name or email for this feature. This information is used only to prevent duplicate or self-redemption and provide gifted Plus access. It is not used for advertising, tracking, or analytics.
Network security and service logs
When LittleMarks connects to the invite service, the service receives standard network information such as an IP address, request time, requested service path, and response status. IP-scoped counters are held for up to one hour to limit abusive sign-in and redemption attempts. Operational access logs may be retained for up to 30 days to protect the service and diagnose reliability problems. This information is not combined with your journal, used for product analytics, or used for advertising or tracking.
Sharing
You can share an invite code. That action does not include markbooks, records, or notes. LittleMarks does not upload personal journal content to a developer service or third party.
Device permissions
The current version does not request access to your camera, photo library, contacts, microphone, or location.
Retention and deletion
Your local library remains on your iPhone until you clear local data or delete the app. A Plus iCloud backup remains separate until you delete it from the iCloud backup screen or manage the associated Apple Account storage. The invite screen separately lets you delete the referral account and its server-side identifier, invite code, referral history, and gifted entitlement. Expired rate-limit counters are removed after their one-hour window. Operational service logs are removed within 30 days.
Changes to this policy
If LittleMarks changes its iCloud backup, analytics, or other data practices, this policy and the App Store privacy disclosure will be updated before those changes are released.
